In 1925, Paris hosted an iconic exhibition that gave its name to the Art Deco style: an artistic and decorative movement that left its mark on the entire 20th century. The International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts propelled Art Deco onto the world stage.
In 2025, Paris celebrates the 100th anniversary of this landmark event with two major exhibitions. They offer a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in this exceptional era.
Where and when to see these exhibitions
Starting this weekend, the French capital transforms into a true stage for Art Deco:
The Musée des Arts Décoratifs is hosting a major exhibition from today until April 26, 2026. This immersive retrospective presents nearly 1,000 works, retracing the history and diversity of Art Deco.
Meanwhile, the Carrousel du Louvre will host the International Cultural Heritage Fair from October 23 to 26, 2025. It will showcase Art Deco through more than 350 exhibitors, conferences, and events.
These events remind us how profoundly Art Deco shaped our sense of modernity, geometry, noble materials… and light.
Ces événements rappellent combien l’Art déco a façonné notre rapport à la modernité, à la géométrie, aux matériaux nobles… et à la lumière.
Rediscovering Art Deco through Perzel’s light

Parmi les artisans d’exception qui ont marqué cette période, Jean Perzel occupe une place singulière.
Since the 1920s, his lighting fixtures have stood out for their clean lines, subtle combination of glass and bronze, and constant quest for balance between technology and aesthetics.
One of his iconic designs, the lamp No. 162, is a testament to this high standard. Displayed at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, this creation perfectly embodies the Art Deco spirit… A harmonious interplay of volumes, diffused and controlled light, and a design that is both understated and sumptuous.
A living tribute to French craftsmanship
By celebrating the centenary of 1925, these exhibitions remind us that Art Deco is far from a frozen style. It is a living heritage, carried forward by houses like Atelier Jean Perzel, still active in Paris after more than a century.
Our master glassmakers and bronze artisans continue to uphold the gestures of yesterday, while adapting the timeless Perzel light to contemporary interiors around the world.
